Thing #23

YEA!! Only a year late-but what a year.
Will use this as a reference point.
Best and most used Thing was the Library Thing-use it to catalog the library.
Onto more learning.
Thanks for the experience.

Thing #22

There are a lot of cool podcasts to view. Bookmarked some in my delicious account to look at when needed.

Thing #21

YouTube is fun to look around and see what you can find (your kid doing stupid things or what is happening in your home town).

Thing #12

This is so neat and I am going to recommend it to all my patrons in organizing the books they have read and are looking for more to read. They will be able to tell me what they want by recommendations from others.
There is so much information on this site you can look at, sometimes overwhelming. You have to get in there and look around.

Thing #11

Technology. Technology??? Technology!!! Wow!
There have been soooo many changes in technology in the 25 years I have been out of school. I can hardly imagine the changes in the next 25 years.
I have computerized the village office from everything handwritten (maybe even twice) to computer generated bills, minutes and accounting. The library has gone from a small dark moldy room with some old books to multi-media bright building with wi-fi.
The way I communicate with my kids from the way my parents communicated with me has improved by cellphones, texts, messaging and emails. Even my mom says it is easier to keep in touch.
Just about any trivia question, date or argument can be solved within a few minutes with internet.
There are so many cool and chalenging programs and web sites out there.
I sort of got caught up in the blogs, will have to read more later.

Thing #10

Create Fake Magazine Covers with your own picture at MagMyPic.com

MagMyPic was really fun. There is not enough time to check out all of these and play. This would be good for promotion of the library.

The Montagr was really cool and could be used for various themes on bulletin boards or fliers for library events. The Flickr Color Pickr was also neat in looking at the different colors and shades.
